Nitte University, Mangalore, Karnataka was established in the year 1979. It offers 8 courses in the UG level, i.e. B.Sc, B.Arch, MBBS, BPT, BDS, B.Pharm, BJMC, and Post Basic B.Sc in Nursing program and 8 courses in the PG level namely MD, MS, MSc, MCh, M.Pharm, MPH, MPT, and MJMC. There are 6 specializations for doing a PhD and additional courses available are D.Pharm, GNM, Post Basic Diploma in Nursing, Pharm.D, etc.

Admissions happen in an offline process for all the courses except for the doctorate courses, for which aspirants must download the form and submit via post. Admission to medical courses is granted on the basis of NEET scores while for other courses on the basis of merit on the last qualifying examination.

Nitte University Admissions

  • Admissions to MBBS and BDS programs are done on the basis of NEET UG Score. Eligibility for these courses is 10 + 2 passed from a recognized board.
  • Candidates who wish to apply in MD, MS, or MDS courses must have completed their MBBS or BDS course from a recognized institute respectively. Selection of these courses is done on the basis of NEET PG and NEET MDS Scores.
  • Admission to all the other UG and PG courses is done on the basis of merit in the previous qualifying examination. 
  • Eligibility for UG courses is 10 + 2 passed from a recognized board and for PG programs is a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university.

Nitte University Facilities

  • Hostel: The hostels are on campus and present close to the college. The students get fully furnished rooms with a bed, study table and chair, and a cupboard. 
  • Mess: There is an attached mess to the hostel that provides both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian food to the students. Outside food is not allowed in the hostel’s mess
  • Medical: The students are covered under the Medicare Scheme from the college which allows them to avail free medical treatment at reputed hospitals. These are a 1200 bed multi-specialty KS Hegde Hospital and dental treatment at AB Shetty Dental Hospital
  • Transport Facility: There is a fleet of buses and vans that are maintained on the campus. These vehicles provide free transport facilities to the students and staff
  • Gym: There is an air-conditioned Gym present on campus with an area of 5500 sq. ft. It remains functional from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The gym offers 3 professionally trained instructors along with equipment like treadmills, exercise bikes, elliptical trainers, rowing machines, etc.

Nitte University, Mangalore offers a 5 ½ years MBBS program with the intake of 150 students and a 5-year BDS course with compulsory internship of 1 year and capacity of 100 students.

Candidates who have completed 10+2 with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or biotechnology, English are considered eligible to get admission to MBBS and BDS courses.
